It took Erin Jasmine Pursell several years to cut through the dense San Francisco
fog and discover a strong preference for puddle stomping through her native
Seattle. She returned to the Great Northwest in 2007, bringing with her the voice
and vision of a hometown girl returned, and established Jasmine Editorial. This
business serves as a platform for her to provide services using her versatile
editorial skills, and an outlet for her passion for communication.
From a young age, athletics and communication were
common themes in her life. She left her Ravenna neighborhood after earning a
after earning a basketball scholarship to San Francisco State
University, and also a chance to participate in the school's
renowned journalism program. She excelled on the court and in the
the classroom, and graduated at the top of her class with a
degree in journalism with a focus on environmental writing.
After pouring herself into journalism as a student, she secured
employment in the industry as a professional copy editor and
freelance correspondent for a major metropolitan newspaper
(The Oakland Tribune/ANG Newspapers) by the time she
graduated.
Still early in her career, Erin is already an experienced writer and editor who has
worked for local, regional and national publications. A news and information
junkie, she is passionate about fresh, informative storytelling that helps people
connect with their communities and thrives on the challenge of making stories
and content come alive. She is well versed in helping readers wrap their minds
around complex issues and is skilled in the art of building narrative in stories and
content.
When she’s not reporting on mid-air refueling from a C-17 jet, exploring the coast
in search of a weekend getaway to share with her readers, or editing online
contentdddddddddd content, Erin enjoys practicing and teaching yoga,
readingkkk reeerear reading a wide variety of publications, cooking and
spending dtttttttttttttt spending time with her family. Especially her dog,
ktdddddddd teaching Mr. Shneebles.
